A tribute to Sir William Hillary, the man who in 1824, together with Thomas Wilson and George Hibbert, founded the ‘National Institution for the Preservation of Life from Shipwreck’. In 1854 the institution’s name changed to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)
